Acceptable
Use Policy.
WCCTA.net reserves the right to restrict or terminate service without
refund in the event of a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
WCCTA.net also reserves the right to take action on abuse which
is not specifically named in this Acceptable Use Policy at the sole
discretion of WCCTA.net. Use of the WCCTA.net network and systems
constitutes understanding and agreement of this policy.
Responsibility:
- Each
WCCTA.net Internet account has a password that is the key to gain
access to that account. The customer who registered the account
is solely responsible for all access and actions taken with regard
to the account. It is the account owner’s responsibility
to safeguard the account password and to ensure that WCCTA.net
Acceptable Use Policies are honored. WCCTA.net will hold the account
owner responsible for any violations of the Acceptable Use policy.
- Sites
directly attached to the WCCTA.net backbone are expected to adhere
to the WCCTA.net Acceptable Use Policies. The individual who signed
the contract is responsible for educating site users on Acceptable
Use Policies. Violations by directly attached sites will be referred
to the contract signer for resolution. The contract signer will
be held responsible for any violations of the Acceptable Use Policy.
- WCCTA.net
enforces these policies with respect to WCCTA.net customers only.
We are not responsible for abusive actions that originate from
other sites or networks on the Internet.
Network:
- May
not attempt to circumvent user authentication or security of any
host, network, or account on WCCTA.net systems or the Internet
at large (“cracking”). This includes scanning or probing
ports without the consent of the owner of the machine being scanned.
- May
not use WCCTA.net systems or networks (willfully or negligently)
in a manner that encumbers disk space, processors, bandwidth,
or other system resources so as to interfere with others’
normal use of services on WCCTA.net or other systems and networks
(“denial of service” attack).
- May
not participate in activities that violate local, state, or federal
statutes.
Email:
- May
not send unsolicited mass mailings of any nature, including those
with a “negative option” for continuation. The negative
option is inviting those who do not wish to receive more email
to reply to you.
- May
not send a large number of email messages, or singularly large
email messages, to a single address in order to flood someone’s
mailbox.
- May
not forge email headers to obscure the true originator of the
message.
- May
not create or participate in pyramid schemes or chain letters.
- May
not send harassing email, either by language, size, or frequency.
This includes sending email (or real time) messages to a person
who has asked explicitly that you do not.
- May
not participate in activities which violate local, state, or federal
statutes.
Dial-up
Access:
- Dial-up access
is unlimited, however it is not a dedicated modem connection.
Use of WCCTA.net dial-up service as a dedicated modem connection
through use of re-dialers and idle-time traffic generators is
prohibited.
- Dial-up
connections that are connected for more than 12 hours continuously,
will be disconnected.
- Multiple
simultaneous logins to a single WCCTA.net dial-up account are
prohibited.
- Activities
which violate local, state, or federal statutes.
Web Pages:
- WCCTA.net
may provide domain name service for web page customers. Keeping
registry information updated and accurate is the responsibility
of the domain holder and not WCCTA.net.
- May not
falsify or omit valid domain contact information, including administrative,
technical, zone, and billing contacts.
- May not
distribute pornographic or otherwise indecent or offending material.
- May not
distribute restricted software or materials in violation of copyrights
or distribution licenses.
- May not
distribute materials which violate local, state, or federal statutes.
