About the artist:

Eddie Simpson was born and raised in Iowa. He started at an early age with his artistic abilities.  A self-taught artist, Ed was always dabbling on saw blades, barn doors, and more recently, Iowa turkey tail feathers.

His subject materials are mostly Native Americans and wildlife.  Ed has seen a lot of wildlife traveling the rails of Iowa as an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad.  Ed's work has become well known with many Iowa Chapters of Pheasants Forever and the Iowa Turkey Federation.

In working with feather art,  Ed tries to paint a real, living animal, so as to see every detail.   Creating a sense of realism on a feather.  He enjoys the smiles his art brings to the faces of people when they see the eagles, wolves, pheasants and deer on a small turkey feather.

Ed and his wife, Elly, live in a log cabin in small town Boxholm, Iowa.
