Despite loving to draw as a child, I never persued a formal education in art.  My first classroom experience began in 1979 under the guise of a six week class in "Tole Painting".  Each week I would go home and practice daisies, strawberries, and leaves.  It was "love at first stroke".  A second six weeks focused on landscapes and I was certain I was on my way to being a real artist.

I became an affectionado of art books and painting paraphernalia. The more I learned about painting, the more I realized how little I knew, so the more I studied and practiced.  Perhaps this is one of the greatest joys of painting; that you can never do it all.  There is always another idea to challenge the creative mind.
