Mastery Learning - Rate Inequalities
"If some students take much longer than others to learn a particular objective, then one of two things must happen. Either corrective instruction must be given outside of regular class time, or students who achieve mastery earlier on will have to waste considerable amounts of time waiting for their classmates to catch up...putting rapid masters on hold with 'enrichment' or 'lateral extension' activities while corrective instruction is given, is unlikely to be beneficial for these students".
