On this page I will cover the other part of my shooting hobby. When I can't be out shooting, I like to reload my own ammo. This gives me more control over what I shoot. That way I can control the quality, and the loading of the shell. It also gives me custom made loads that fit my chamber perfectly instead of being a generic "one size fits all" load.

I shoot a lot of reduced loads that you can't get over the counter. They are great for plinking and developing good shooting form without the recoil of a full load. I can if I wish, load a hotter (staying within the listed book loads) load for specific purposes.

Any references to a loading for any caliber found on these pages, is for informational purposes only. Use your loading manual to confirm any loads you are interested in. Follow the load manual. Never exceed the listed MAX load in your manual. When working up to a hot load do so with caution. One mistake can turn a good load into a bomb, waiting to go off in your hands. ALWAYS SAFETY FIRST

Enough with the legal stuff. I don't want to scare anyone off from this hobby, as it can be quite rewarding. Just use common sense and don't try to out think the loading manual. Always keep your reloading equipment in top condition. Use good quality tools. There are a lot of good companies to buy equipment from, so shop around and know what you are getting.

This is a picture of my reloading bench. It doesn't take a lot of room but it has everything that I need for getting the job done properly. Your reloading area should be well lit and clean. Several of the companies that supply reloading equipment have starter kits available, and they can be a good place to start your hobby. I use equipment from RCBS, Redding, StonyPoint, and Lyman and have found them to all be reliable and well built.
