Thimbles of the Week:
Fizzy Drinks

7-Up, A&W, Barq's, and Dr. Pepper: What do these all have in common? They all can be served in upside-down thimbles! In fact, one 12 oz. can of 7-Up will serve over 60 guests. Speaking from experience, my guests have traditionally asked for refills. My recommendation is that, when your 12 oz. can of name-brand pop runs out, you can pour off-brand soda into the empty can and serve this to guests at your event. Due to the small portions, they'll rarely be able to tell they've been duped!
Here's a conversion chart that you might find handy, when your name-brand pop supply is dangerously low:
7-Up -> Lemon-Lime Shasta or Elf
A&W -> Dad's Root Beer
Dad's Root Beer -> Shopper's Value Root Beer
Barq's -> Since Barq's is the worst root beer on the market, just serve Barq's in a Shopper's Value can and save yourself a little embarrassment!
Dr. Pepper -> Mr. Pibb -> Dr. Thunder
Surge, Crystal Pepsi, New Coke -> You fool! What are you doing serving this at a party? Take the remaining supply from your grandparents' basement (obviously they forgot it was down there) and sell it on eBay. It's worth $$$!
